Dezember 1835 auf einer sechs Kilometer langen Strecke zwischen N\u00fcrnberg und F\u00fcrth. Der Transport von G\u00fctern und Menschen war bis dahin schwierig und langsam. Der gew\u00f6hnliche B\u00fcrger war zu Fu\u00df unterwegs, die normale Tagesetappe lag bei etwa 20 Kilometer. Schon die erste Eisenbahn erreichte eine Geschwindigkeit von 30 Kilometern pro Stunde, die damals als atemberaubend und angsteinfl\u00f6\u00dfend empfunden wurde. 1858 wurde Sinzig im Rahmen des Ausbaus der Bahnlinie Bonn-Koblenz an das rasch wachsende Bahnnetz angeschlossen.
